It safeguards against potential damage due to over-pressurization or implosion from vacuum conditions and blocks external flames from entering the tank. Acting both as an inhaler under negative pressure and as a release valve for overpressure, this valve automatically opens when air pressure surpasses the pre-established threshold. It then separates from the seal to relieve any undue negative or positive pressure.
